Tome of Dorgoth

Melchior the Mouth

Melchior “the Mouth” Dogplate (876 LC - 939 LC) was a newsman and member of The Traveling Word, famous for his role during both the Labarean invasion of Zhai and the return of Morsyana.

Invasion of Zhai

In 903 LC, Melchior was sent to Zhai from Arkos, to assess the consequences of the Labarean invasion that initiated in 900 LC and had led to the fall of Lloridan and Gazul. While traveling through there, he picked up the news that the Silimani Gunslingers had traveled to Pellvyr in King's Swamp, as trouble was brewing in that region. While interested, Melchior was dedicated to gathering intelligence in Zhai and proceeded towards Lloridan, where he met with Hasin Purushu and other key figures of the anti-Labarean resistance.

At the end of Folkanar in 904 LC, Melchior set out to return to the mainland of the Northern Arm. In the jungle north of Lloridan, he met Kramknir Arutan, Spatula the Bard, Barry Bearbite and Rolin the Fist, who told him tales about chaos in King's Swamp. Afterwards, he set his mind to traveling to the abandoned Laeryllian province immediately, and decided to call for a meeting with the Arkos Plains emissary Faryl Crestbrand as soon as he arrived in the neutral zone north of Zhai. On Priar 13, Faryl was informed about the activities of Fist of Ush in Lloridan, and the Labarean plans to use golems for further expansion, prompting the Arkos Plains to direct activities towards sabotaging golem production.

Return of Morsyana

On Priar 20, Melchior arrived at King's Swamp, where the town of Pellvyr had grown through the arrival of Zhai refugees and fortune seekers who arrived due to the discovery and subsequent exploitation of Bothandal's Mine.
